Kinda off topic but Tiktok has done too much damage to fobs that shit needs to go, I'm surprised we have one of the most advanced ICT sectors in Africa and they still haven't developped a Somali app
Gov tried banning tiktok but they have no control over internet providers and telecom companies
They have good institutions as well that got a significant boost with oil, Somalia at some point had more schools than them, it was really a primitive monarchy before

I'm not talking about anytime soon only once Somalia is a functioning country and when we have leaders who prioritises in aesthetics and other important matters. Once that's taken in I'm more than happy for Somalia to open the doors for tourism. We need good PR.
Yeah maybe for regional tourism but definitely not international one,maybe if they build a nice airport and set up stuff to facilitate tourism in the future

I doubt Somalia will be an international tourist spot any time soon. It will be mostly domestic or diaspora visiting.
More and more people around the world are tired of these overcrowded tourist spots like Bali or Maldives, there's so many people traveling to random countries to enjoy the nature and culture like Mongolia for example

I agree most of these tourists (especially cadaans) try to take advantage of the native population they do it everywhere from kenya in africa to thailand in asia to brazil in south america. We need strict laws so if they are caught doing this straight execution no deportations

I forgot to add this but at 0:59 they say many of the tourists are actually investors, then theres an cadaan guy who points out how cheap and reliable internet is and how it could be taken advantage of in many ways such as education"I've heard more gunshots in America than in Somalia"
In a sense, this is good news but there's no real organisation to welcome tourists in Somalia, but future tourism agencies could make tons of money, there's so many stuff you can do there, here's some examples :
First of all, BAN tourists from that nasty beach near the lighthouse, I don't mean ban literally but access to Jazeera and other cleaner beaches should be made easier and known, like any normal country brochures should be handed to tourists about where they should go
Just look at Jazeera beach, it's beautiful, clean and empty most of the time and in close proximity to Mogadishu, someone told me there's 5 other small beaches like these
In the video they show how people can rent quad bikes to ride in the sand dunes near Mogadishu
But somethings that's more common among Somalis for dalxiis is renting land cruisers trucks in groups and visiting the countryside, going hiking or pick-nicking, I've done it a couple times and if you went back home chances are you traveled in these cars often, Somalis back home go on dalxiis way more than you think they would most of the time with their whole families

There's tourism agencies that do this for the little tourists that come to SL but they only take them in the middle of nowhere to show them huts

Sorry for the rant but for God sake please stop promoting hut culture, no one wants to see this, we have tons of stone medieval ruins all over Somaliweyn and if excavated properly could attract a lot of tourism

Putting this out here in the hope that someone opens a decent tourism agency one day, all you have to do is guide tourists through all of this, pick them up from the airport, hotel, hand brochures etc
This is really beautiful we're seeing the progress of the country in real time
Most of the tourism is internal, from the looks of it, it's for Somalis living in the west.
Our culture would have to completely change for tourism like that to even be possible. Places like Kenya, Brazil, Thailand, Vietnam, Morocco are completely different to Somalia culturally.
The type of tourism that I’m worried about is what they’re currently doing which is painting Somalia as this extreme shit hole that hasn’t changed over the past 30 years.
We should definitely have strict laws in regards to tourism and how cadaans paint our country to be. None of these people are coming with genuine interests in sight seeing currently for obvious reasons. They look down on Africans and we’ve had a negative image for decades. We should have smarter people in charge controlling who gets to take vlogs in xamar
Those third world countries that are exploited by cadaans don’t tend be dangerous and 100% Muslim. Somalia is too culturally incompatible for that form of tourism to ever happen.
