I will say, when it comes to black stuff like afro hair products, it makes no sense for south asian people to have the monopoly on that market like they do. I'd rather buy afro combs and such from the carribean woman on my street who actually has afro hair and therefore is selling something that is a part of their culture and not simply profiting from it like people who don't have that hair texture.
however when it comes to other stuff like corner stores and such idgaf and to be frank the idea that south Asian communities didn't face ridiculous hardship is a joke

Idk man, I’m going through the comments and no one (yet, thank God!) is mentioning Somalis. Personally can’t stand either TJs or JW so I’m watching them fight it out. Besides, all the stuff about the black community businesses has nothing to do with Somalis. Somalis open up many businesses like TJs. The difference is TJs showed up before us and are everywhere. I was in Twickenham a few ago and went to top up my Oyster card and the corner shop was run by a TJ. Even though Twickenham has like five TJs. But as the Somali community prosper quicker, it’ll be a more level playing field. Just gotta get over the fear of the mortgage now….

In Atlanta, GA, Somalis used to pray a mosque managed by Asians. There were constant issues. Somalis fun-raised and built a separate mosque. The Indian imam had to come to Somalis in the other mosque and begged them to come back and be part of management. That way, the mosque could've had people coming and praying there.
Bottom line, blacks should stop complaining about other communities and start doing things for themselves.

This beef has been really interesting to me thankfully we haven't involved ourselves much and haven't been brought up in these convos as I was hoping we wouldn't because w operate in like a kinda middle area between the madows and TJ's here. The elainethepain lady just hates TJs if we are gonna be real maybe anger bc they own so much or the racism but it's obvious but nothing is gonna happen lol ppl will still go for their corner shops and pics and hair products just a stupid online war.

From what ive seen in uk media somalis have mostly left the spotlight at this point now rather they focusing on eritrean and afghanistani migrants and other new migrant groups. London somalis have become established now and uk media does not have the ciil and aano of american media to keep bashing them
I think most of this blaming somalis for stuff and general racism is coming out of american media sources and since american news is world news people here in uk just parrot wwhat thw american overlord says

My Tamil brothers give me extra burger sauce every time. No way am I boycotting my Ana and revoking my honorary Tamil chicken shop passport.
My Afghan chicken shop owners give me free sauce and drinks and are happy for me to pay next time if I don’t have money (yet to take them up on that offer). I won’t be boycotting them haha.
