Minneapolis Mayoral Election Drama

The last polling showed he was neck and neck or a bit above Jacob Frey in rank choice voting. The voting structure allows for voters to pick their top three preferred candidates.

That's where he has the upper hand because if a voter first choice doesn't win then it goes over to the next choice, if they list Omar as third or 2nd in their ballot it will combine with the ones who had him as their first choice.

So Omar Fateh cleverly built a coalition alliance with 2 other leading candidates to beat Frey. Because Frey has the advantage of the incumbency.
I have a feeling this race will be very close. I don’t live in Minnesota but Jacob Frey seems like a good man. If he does win it’s not the end of the world.

People are saying he lacks charisma and yeah I kind of agree. He seems lifeless and flat even when doing media interviews and that doesn't help when trying to attract or persuade voters. Ilhan Omar has a ton of that and it helped her maintain a strong voter base and gain supporters out of state.
I agree. He seems like he doesn’t have experience and is shy. Ilhan is definitely talented

I have provided evidence in my previous posts that it had everything to do with qabiil.
It wasn't freshies back home but diaspora Somalis from around the world, say wlhis like Fateh, who were engaging in online clan bashing. They weren't criticizing Nasri's republicanism, but insulting hawiye and claiming "no sane Daarood will vote for this HAG. Kick them out of Minnesota".
I am fairly certain @Hassan Garguute Buldanana is omar Fateh himself.
Your hypocrisy has no limits.

It is freshies on tiktok talking crap and dont even have sharci to vote. People also need to learn how to ignore the clan talk.

Omar Fateh recieved 6000 votes already from Somalis, whilst Jacob didn't even get 200 Somali votes. He even explains difference between chatter on social media and the reality on the ground

He is not bad man at all. But he is the standard centrist democrat. He is unpopular among the Minneapolis DFLer's because he works against the city council, county commissioners and state legislators.

He even vetoed the Gaza cease-fire resolution that city council voted on:

He has made record number of vetoes, tantamount to political overreach:

Instead of carrying out what people want , he is acts in a way that protects corporate donor interests, that want to maintain the status quo.

So its misaligned, you have a progressive super majority in the city council with a centrist Major.

Thanks for info. Had no idea. Did you see Ilhan fighting with his staffers on Twitter? Why is there so much beef between them?

This reminds me of some democrats in the California legislature they campaign as progressives but govern like moderates cause they take money from big tech firms I believe there called the “mod squad ”

I left California before newsom got in but from what I’ve heard he backtracked on his two big promises High speed rail and universal healthcare

Did you see his reaction when someone said they wouldnt support a politician taking a single dollar from "AIPAC" ? , its so funny. He mentions JPAC while muddling "Interesting" a dozen times, which is the California equivalent of it

Just learned that Jacob Frey ran track with Abdi Bile when he was ten years old. I guess that explains his affection for the Somali community.
