Pan Africanism is a cancer that needs to be avoided. The hate and cuqdad pan Africans have is ridiculous. Let this be a warning to any naive Somali who thinks they are our allies. It has to also be mentioned that this is a characteristic of modern pan Africanism and seemed to have not been this way in the past. The movement was hijacked by hateful entities.
Their main focus and talking points nowadays is Muslim Africans and how Afro Asiatic speakers are invaders. They hyper focus on trivial things like nose shape and hair texture as a result of inflicted self hate due to psychological operations from Europeans. Avoid by all means them and their fake labels.

Ibrahim Traore is drapped in theatrics. Hailed as a new Thomas Sankara like figure. Dramatic speeches, anti-French slogans, “pan-African unity” press conferences, yet no real institutional or economic transformation to back it up. It’s all performance.
He doesn't even control half his country and it's riddled with humanitarian disasters and civil strife.
Changing alliances is not going to miraculously transform Burkina Faso. It shows how his appeal rests on rhetoric and not institutional reform.
Pan-Africanism is less about unity and sovereignity , and more about theatrics and symbolism , hollow rhetoric wrapped in anti-colonial cosplay.
The African Union is a prime example of this, a bureaucratic shell that either acts as a client of Western donors or It has done little to actually safeguard African sovereignty, and even less to deliver tangible results for African populations.
This theatrical Pan-Africanism offers no development model, no serious governance reform, and certainly no economic alternative to the IMF and World Bank pipelines. In many ways, it just repackages victimhood and grievances, instead of delivering resilience and productivity. They are stuck in a cycle of dependency, western acceptance-seeking, and institutional theater. There’s no genuine alignment.
We need to stop pretending there’s a shared vision. Most of these Pan-Africanist circles are stuck in delusion and hyper-theatrics without delivery. Somalia’s current path , driven by community support, private sector innovation, diaspora engagement, and cultural pragmatism , already sets it apart.
Somalis should seek cooperation where their interests and values align, not chase defunct idealogies and alliances.
