I can’t find the video, but it showed Somali men jumping over very tall bushes in Somalia . It made me think there’s real potential for high jump at the Olympic level rather than focusing on football !!

Back when Somalis had real athletic institutional backing. A Somali actually became an African high jump champion and won 3 gold medals.

So you are probably right , the potential is there.
