This is how each Somali States EEZ would look like if Somalia became a Confederacy..... Lets ranks which States has most Ocean EEZ.

:jcoleno: Jubaland lost big time in their EEZ to Kenya because of Farmaajo backdoor dealings.

@Bariire great thread bro, definitely we should become more or less a confederal country whereby each FMS is fully sovereign internally. Look how Djibouti is peaceful and slowly developing despite being smaller than every single FMS in Somalia lol. This shows that small is beautiful

I said look at Djibouti they have peace and a functioning state yet they're smaller than every one of our FMSs

Djibouti is under a dictatorship that keeps everyone somewhat happy.

Furthermore, the US/Japan/Italy/China/France would never allow their primary military establishment in the region to collapse. All of these nations have bases in Djibouti and hold an interest in its stability.

Do OG live in continues area from K5 to Jubaland? I was under the impression they're cut off by Marehans in the middle around Gedo.
From Bakool it was straignt into gedo then Middle Jubba but msB created mx settlements like west bank in Gedo to cut them off but still under jubbbaland so we are planning to take every inch of the land.

Why do you think MX always sing the fake anti Kenya song? They were the biggest beneficiaries for border closure.

Yeah but for this country to be feasibly functional it will need direct connection to the sea. From northern Bakool to Buaal you're going to need to go through Bakool and then Bay without going through Marehan territory in Gedo to reach Kismayo.

Used to be Burdhuubo and Bardheer and part of Luuq and fafaxduun. How did Ogaden venture into JL and NFD in 1800s they didnt just do a stepple jump from Bakool all the way to Buale.

A confederal like Somalia would be peaceful and prosperous because it would be no threat to any other country in the world @Periplus

Confederacies do not exist in modern governance. None ever last over a decade and a country as divided as Somalia will collapse quickly.

Furthermore, most of the world are sick of one Somali nation, imagine multiple. The world of international governance is unfair and will not let a confederacy occur because it would create a "peaceful and prosperous" Somalia.

Somalis should create their own system like iran or UAE
IMO anything that gives the FGS more power I am in favour off. Of course some FGS administrations can be corrupt but the cons of being a Unitary state is much lower than a Confederacy. Normal Federalism will never work in a clannist country like SOM.

When will Habar Gidir's learn the concept of leaving people's belongings and land alone? Every map they see of Mudug, they draw a few lines and claim it is 'contested'. They are such a weird group of people, what is in North Mudug that belongs to you? Even Galkacyo itself was MJ land before you were invited to live there.

If you don't stop antagonising us, we will start playing the same game and claim South Mudug "uNuKA lEh"

We certainly need this. The only people who are opposed to this are those who are upset that their clan doesn't have enough land to form a Federal State that they are a majority in. They need to stop being scared and embrace the fact that nobody is out to hurt them.

I'm really annoyed that Somalia's political future is constantly being derailed by minority groups who want to fool us all with their bullshit 'patriotism' rhetoric. We have all seen how they behave when they get hold of power and that's enough of a lesson for us all.

I’m not from a minority clan but tell me one small clan that has led the nation and got power hungry. Only President to come from a small clan (sub) was Aden cadde and he gave up power peacefully when he lost the election.

This country needs to be built on meritocracy, only the best and qualified in their field should be leading no matter what clan he/she comes from 👍🏾

Except for Banadir (unless Banadir becomes part of a regional state), the FGS should unofficially have with each FMS the same kind of relationship Switzerland has with Liechtenstein even though in theory Somalia remains one country. Switzerland controls Liechtenstein's foreign policy, Swiss embassies/consulates de facto also act like Liechtenstein co-owns them, they de facto share the same one military, the Swiss franc is also the currency of Liechtenstein and lastly Liechtenstein is part of Swiss customs territory. Other than all that Liechtenstein is fully sovereign internally.

That is confederalism in action folks, let's emulate this
