A couple thousand of us live outside of Somali hotspots in North America.
So if you get bullied you can't rely on somalis to help you out over here. Some niggas just grow up insecure because of this and end up lame like yusuf.

What even makes it worse for Somali American teens is that a lot of these guys are stuck at home because their parents don't allow them to participate in school sports or clubs. These are extremely important for making friends at school. Being a quiet miskeen nigga isn't enough to survive here when you have no Somali community.

Most Somalis in America never got bullied for being Somali. Only a few areas had a big enough Somali population to where ajnabis were even thinking about us. Before we started going viral online, Somalis in America were mostly a low key demographic. They only thought about us when Somalia was in the news, which wasn’t even that often tbh

Yea I know but the ones living in areas with no Somali community can still be vulnerable to bullying. I said It on here before but I legit know a Somali kid that dealt with severe bullying to the point his parents moved him to a different state just so he could go to school with somalis.
Even if these kids don't deal with somaliphobia they can still deal with colorism, forhead jokes, islamophobia, and can even get picked on because of their size.

Tbh I doubt Somalis will ever get organized to setup an organization like the ADL. The best we’ll get is a discord server with a bunch of unemployed Somalis launching targeted attacks towards the coons similar to how the trolls used to launch targeted attacks at ajnabis and Somali women lol
Instead I think we should start focusing on the positive Somalis online. Helping them go viral can help drown out the coons/self-haters
We have development threads on here where people post videos/pictures of new positive developments in Somalia. We can have something similar like a thread where people post Somalis doing something positive online that way people can discover new Somalis they can go follow and support
It needs to be on the same platforms though where people are- i.e tiktok, instagram, twitter, etc.
There are also Somalis back in Somalia with large local platforms who should be boosted by diaspora too.
What I’m saying is we can use SSpot as a place to raise awareness about positive Somalis, so we can go support them on whatever platform they’re on. That way we have central place of discovery
True, people in general need to train themselves to resist the urge to share/retweet negative press in our community just because the gossip is momentarily fun.
