There's a fentanyl overdose crisis in the community

There have been a few Somalis who have died of fentanyl overdose in my city that I have heard of this Fall. My friend just called me today and he mentioned he came back from a funeral last week of a late 20s Somali guy in his own city of the same cause of death. He said the community is keeping the cause of death under wraps and only a select few are being open about it. Its not the only one he's heard. Why is there no discussion of this?

This is Canada but I believe its also a big issue in Minnesota.

There is a crisis all over Canada, I don't live around a lot of Somalis but I've seen far too many overdoses in public places. Usually natives and some cadaan, I'm sure its reached the Somali community. Its everywhere

Somalis are masters of under the carpet hush hush policy. They could burry their loved ones at the backyard just to avoid scandal if they could.

So many Somalis are on drugs in Minneapolis it is sad wallahi you will see groups of teens, and young Somali adults huddled together smoking out of a tin foil

I've seen videos of UK Halimos using that laughing gas stuff, sad to see. Substances really do change a person, subhanallah.

All of you should check up on your relatives and friends and make sure they're not doing this stuff, even if you have to be harsh and even if they will resent you for it. Because the alternative is much worse, either death or prison.
