This film is incredibly well done. It has everything a film needs, drama, action, emotion.. The cinematography is stunning and the style is impeccable--If you like action and fight scenes, you are in for a treat.

This Kingdom and its female army really existed, the characters are fictionalised of course to make it into a movie.

I wish they showed more of the Benin Culture, they made incredible Art; Very impressive people.

Cadaans low key love these slavery movies, its meant to remind blacks were they are in Western hierarchy

well for instance in history the dahomey kingdom was very friendly with the Brazilians, they held special offices in the kingdom. Secondly the fighters against slavery wasn't as black n white as shown in the film the dahomey kingdom was certainly more villainous, and for centuries ignited war to expand and usurp lands and hold more slaves captive. it was a bustling trade for sure.
