After the Ogaden War, and exile of the Russians/Warsaw Pact members Somalia was desperate for friends. The West’s only objective was to reduce Russian influence on Somalia, not to treat Somalia as friends. They never trusted Somalis, as Somalis had strong Anti Colonial sentiments, strong sense of independence, and last but not least conquest ambitions that threatened both Ethiopia, Kenya.
There was a very old former Ethiopian former intelligence official in my State who talked about how he used to be in meetings with the West, Gulf States, Ethiopia, in the ‘80s discussing how to destroy Somalia. The tactic even then was using Qabil, funding extremist groups. This guy was very old, very well informed, had no reason to lie, and that’s exactly what happened. I never mentioned this before because people wouldn’t believe me, but in this age things come to light. You see Xalane actions, mysterious arm deliveries in the middle of the baadiye, and things are adding up. Xalane is an entire complex dedicated to undermine Somali. This is why what Farmaajo is doing now, is both tremendously brave, or suicidal depending on how you look at it.
Somalis finally today, frigging 2021 are finally seeing this, unbelievable.
