The War in Sudan

As many of you are aware there’s a current war in Sudan, but what’s rarely discussed is how deep seated anti-Somali sentiment is within their society. Let’s unpack it. Do they deserve our support? I think not. North Sudanis are what many accuse Somalis of being; anti-Black, filled with superiority, and deeply ashamed of anything that ties them to Africa. Their society thrives on Arab exceptionalism and looks down on darker skinned tribes. To sum it up, their civil war is rooted in anti-Blackness.

The Sudanese, especially in Arabic speaking spaces, love to throw us under the bus since they are always treated as the lowest hanging fruit within the hierarchy. Back in 2019, Alaa Salah, a 22 year old North Sudanese student, stood on top of a car leading crowds and said, “Don’t be like Somalia and destroy our country.”

Our people’s struggles are always thrown in our faces by everyone, especially other Northeast Africans such as Ethiopians, Eritreans, and Sudanese, all while they shamelessly demand our support. I say it is best that Somalis stay out of their online debates and pushback when they demand our support.

Love my Sudanese brothers. Somalis since the civil war have gone there without needing visas or permits. Thousands of people have completed university studies and masters there.

They have been one of the most welcoming Muslim countries to Somalis. May Allah give them peace and prosperity.

Sudos are very hateful, they look madow asf and are indistinguishable from the people they’re fighting against but still look down on them. This level of antiblackness and self hate needs to be studied. They larp as problack east africans to try and shed their cunsuri nafri image but their real thoughts always come out eventually

You’re weird. I have many Sudanese friends, and most Sudanese people I meet are cool. My cousins studied medicine, dentistry, laboratory ,Arabic and Islamic studies in Sudanese universities. They all felt like locals and were living life like normal.

I don’t follow twitter, but why the hate? Because she mentioned Somalia? It’s true, why hate the truth? We rebelled against the government 35 years ago and still are in political turmoil. A cautionary tale for any country….

Get up. They’re mocking our country and you’re saying “why the hate?” Even twitter incels were smart enough to understand the tricks Sudos were pulling and how they purposely argue with troll accounts to try and smear Somalis as antiblack and present themselves as problack activists even tho they have been waging war against their madow population for centuries now. I enjoy watching them cry about the racism they experience in Egypt and how countries won’t let them in as refugees. It’s a cautionary tale for people who want to mock us

They’re also super weird when it comes to Somali women just like the Ethiopians & Eritreans. If they’re not shading us they’re claiming us like the begs they are. I’m honestly so over all three

Man thank god I don’t use twitter and am not on most social media platforms.

Otherwise I would be wishing destruction on Sudan and its people because of what a few do or say online. Imagine wishing 10 year war of destruction on a Muslim nation because of some twitter rubbish?

I literally don’t care. I hate how sanctimonious people are on here especially considering how many past threads were literal qashin but nobody would ever call that out back then. Ajanabis will literally post the craziest shit about us but I’m the bad guy for joking about what’s happening to Sudos. Why tf do we always have to be the nice people who don’t say horrible shit back to people who target us unprovoked?

Twitter and online spaces as a whole are the only real safe zones where people speak their minds and let their biases and naceeb all out. Those tweets are just a glimpse into what the average Sudani and others really think of us. Drop the tired ‘one ummah’ talk nobody believes in it except you guys and maybe a few radical Saudi shiekhs who are all locked up in hotels since 2018 🤣. At the end of the day, everyone prioritizes their own people’s image and interests first.

If i remembered correctly that claim of what alaa saleh said is a false claim. That one tweet is the only occurence of the claim and if you see the actual video she is singing a poem. The full all words of the poem are in the description and there isnt mention of صومال in it
