I was thinking to myself WHY does my soul like to SIN repeatedly???? Then Allaah swt inspired me to go to Surah Yusuf where one of the main themes is a sinning soul.
It started with the stepbrothers- their father making excuse for them by saying your souls have made u sin by harming your lil brother~!
12:18
"And they brought his shirt, stained with false blood.1 He responded, “No! Your souls must have tempted you to do something ˹evil˺. So ˹I can only endure with˺ beautiful patience!2 It is Allah’s help that I seek to bear your claims.”"
Then the tempting sinning soul continues with the wife of the aziz chasing Yusuf pbuh to SA him.
12:23
"And the lady, in whose house he lived, tried to seduce him. She locked the doors ˹firmly˺ and said, “Come to me!” He replied, “Allah is my refuge! It is ˹not right to betray˺ my master, who has taken good care of me. Indeed, the wrongdoers never succeed.”
And then Yusuf pbuh himself admits he is fighting his soul temptations to allow what the aziz wife wants
12:33
"Joseph prayed, “My Lord! I would rather be in jail than do what they invite me to. And if You do not turn their cunning away from me, I might yield to them and fall into ignorance.”
Then the women of the city began to gossip and judge the wife of the Aziz for seducing Yusuf pbuh-- that also shows the tempting soul inclination to gossip and judging
12: 30
"Some women of the city gossiped, “The Chief Minister’s wife is trying to seduce her slave-boy. Love for him has plagued her heart. Indeed, we see that she is clearly mistaken.”
The point is-- Your soul will SIN but you can REPENT!
