the stats will show theres a disproportionate of somali women going into higher fields as oppose to men. they will relate this to high somali male crime rates or something

thats what im saying, but somalis are notorious for being prideful with nothing to show for it. its ok be to a proud somali, but you also need to realise that boasting about it on official data forms when your ethnicity doesnt exactly have the best rep in a racist country like yours isnt the best idea. they will just choose other black people who they perceive to be more educated and less troublesome.

also find it funny how they want to be removed from blacks, when thats basically one of the only identities saving us, seeing as somalis asa whole aren not as educated as a stand alone community like say nigerians, let alone putting somalis against ALL black/african people. This can go wrong in so many ways, and in ten years there will be a new set of UK Somali data people will always use to disparage them, as the census might read something like 100k somalis but officially only like 30k are working or something.

Regarding the benefits, firstly I think anyone who paid tax to the government is entitled to those benefits, and even if not, the UK greatly benefited from colonialism and is still benefiting from destabilising the middle east so I have no sympathy for the british government.

sheekada iga dhaaf saaxib. there are many habaryars fit and healthy claiming diabled just to niiko at weddings every weekend. due to this dependance on benefits, many of the women have chosen not to integrate as they mostly will only interact with other somalis. why does everyone have to work hard but others take advantage of a nation who is way too socialist for its own good? ive seen immirants contribute so much more in a few years of being in the west than somalis who are touching 20 years away from somalia

It will benefit us akh,with our own box we will get the help we need from the government and not share it under the black label. On top of that we can get more representation in the parliament too.

We can analyze our community in numbers propper now aswell, because now we are lumped in to the blacks. No statistics how many somalis died of covid, how many are still suffering other health statistics etc.

Why would they claim disability benefits? Are the unable to claim unemployment?

Either way, I don't have sympathy for the british government which benefited from exploiting others in the past and today. Think of it as reparations, even though actual reparations for their empire and their crimes would be in the trillions.

Nacaseen*** There are other ways to deal with the Corona issues than wanting a seperate box. Arabs in the US still tick white, and Somalis in the UK want their own box? Delusion of the highest order. We should blend in, not stick out, especially when as a community we are not exactly excelling. Black was a good label to hide under, other hard working Black people had to take the fall for the alarming numbers coming out of somali demographics such as low employment and educational level, now it will be seperate and easier to pinpoint

I’d rather have bad (worrying) statistics, than no statistics or numbers at all like we do now. We can tackle problems easier if we know the exact numbers.
