Specially the islands of Ceebaad and Sacadin part of Zeylac district. I reckon it could pull in a lot of revenue.

You mean Somaliland abti.
Last time I checked the central government only controls a quarter of Xamar.
Either way, I'm definitely going to visit there.
Somaliland is not recognized. That is why it would be easier for the Somalia government to give it funds to make a tourism hotspot. Halimos and farahs can go there for their honeymoon.
@Factz when I was in Hargeisa in 2016 Ceel Sheikh beach was the hype among the youth in Hargeisa. Apparently Berbera is old news lol.
Yes, because there was a mini project done for Ceel Sheikh to make it a tourist and a honeymoon area and I guess it worked. Now everyone is going there.
I can imagine bringing sexy Xalimos with their tight diraac on over there on the beaches.
It is a regional and distance thing. People in Hargeisa city will go to Ceel Sheikh, people in Borama city will go to Ceebaad. Likewise people in Ceerigaabo city will go to Maydh which is the nearest beach for friday bashaal.
I've honestly heard many Gadabursi, HY, HJ and even Hartis from far east visiting Ceel Sheikh. It's become a honeymoon hotspot for SL to be honest but I do agree with your points.
Specially the islands of Ceebaad and Sacadin part of Zeylac district. I reckon it could pull in a lot of revenue.

Somalis see a nice beach, or some green land, and automatically think "tourist attraction." But it's not that simple. Yes, some of the important ingredients are there, but many even more essential ones are missing, like : suitable infrastructure (airports, good roads, strong laws), and the social norms make tourism difficult, as drinking, casual sex, partying, and other things enjoyed by tourists are not possible. No tourist is coming to a beach where they can't drink a beer, unless it's a Somali tourist and Somalis are crappy tourists who tend to go to their clan village and call it a day. There's enough beach and greenery in the world that Somalia will struggle to attract any tourist unless the environment is made more suitable for tourism.
see this is why we need an airport in the Awdal region
start a resort
Alas, I haven't visited since the early 00s.
