The avg man doesn't really reach his peak in terms of status and financial stability till his mid to late 30s, expect on rare occasions. It's got nothing to do with control or dominance, they're simply attracted to younger women who're more youthful and fertile than their older female counter-parts.
Not everything men do is some sort of weird Machiavellian scheme to exploit and abuse women, it's basic biology.
