The president Somalia never had

So when the Sayid told the Isaaq “your kids will be gaal your suldaan reported this to me in Berbera come and fight the british” they decided to fight FOR the brits and guess what the brits raped there orphans and made them into christians. Somehow at the end of this it is the Sayid who was to blame.

@Adaawe @Sheikh try and top this level of headspace :russsmug:

The Mad Mullah was paying taxes to the British in Berbera before he relocated to Mecca where he came into contact with the Salihiya teachings of Islam, a violent form similar to modern day Salafism. The idea that he was fighting for Somali nationalism is absurd. The modern equivalent of Dervish is Al-Shabaab.

It was Sultan Nur of the Habr Yunis who spread the myth of Christian conversion in Berbera in order to rally people for his anti British campaign. It was also the word of the sultan that lead to the murder of Allan Gibb in Burao.

Also the majority of Christian Somalis raised by the Catholic mission were Darud. Most of the victims of the Dervish organization were Darud and the only clan leader to be beheaded by the organization was Darud. The poems composed by the Ogaden rejoicing the defeat of the organization proves the amount of pressure that was lifted from certain communities by the forces lead by Haji Waraba and Igarre. The infamous picture from Taleh fort is showing the Rayid (Raid) forces and the Union Jack.

Your Ogadeni clansmen rejoiced at the thought of the Mullah being defeated because they, along with the Dolbahanta, suffered the most.

It’s bewildering how one can support and cherish the Dervish while opposing Al-Shabaab

I get it.. Kacaan propaganda, clan hubris etc but one can’t be that ignorant. Not in the age of information!

But the Sayid was my “Ogadeni clansmen” :icon razz:

Dervish fought british child molestors and missionaries who wanted to literally annex our homeland how that can be related to AS I have no clue but I can see why you would equate them considering Godanes your “Isaqi clansmen”:icon razz:

I know Siad Barre did you wrong but I have nothing to do with that so stop bringing me up its ramadan lets get along :samwelcome:

The Dervish fought to spread the teachings of Salihiya as opposed to the majority of Somalis who were Qadiriya (Sufi). They were not fighting for Pan Somali nationalism and the only reason the British got involved in the first place was because of the destruction of certain Darud clans such as the Dolbahanta. The horrific situation of the Dolbahanta was even discussed in the British parliament.

Similarly your Ogadeni clansmen of that time lamented Dervish terrorism and rejoiced when they were defeated. Unlike the Dolbahanta, the Ogadenis sought protection from the Abyssinian crown.

Today, we have an organization that’s also fighting on the basis of spreading a certain religious ideology (Salafism). They use collective punishment, they invoke takfirism and they kill traditional leaders, which is unlawful in Somali customary law, just like the Dervishes.

You either support terrorism or you’re against. There’s no in between. There’s no pick and choose.

Btw, if you didn’t know, 4 of the top 5 wanted Dervish leaders, including the spiritual father Haji Sudi, were Isaak. The top 3 most influential leaders of Al-Shabaab were Isaak (Arale, Afgan, Godane). The latter two controlled southern Somalia for a decade. You don’t see Isaak people supporting these individuals.

Also, Siad Barre is dead and he’ll answer for the innocent people he killed. There’s no point in mentioning a man who’s been dead for 20+ years.
