We have doctors, lawyers, professors, and engineers. Somalians cannot compare to us in education and employment. Good joke though

My parents are both literate and are both working hard to earn their bread. My father speaks 6 languages
My mother 4. They've helped build a school in Dire Dawa.

If we're going to discuss the potenial laziness of the somali people in terms of their work ethic, I would argue that there are layers that can explain that laziness. Somalis living in Europe and North America are doing worse than those in Africa. Somalis are the jews of Kenya, the richest woman in uganda is a somali and so on. The reason for this success can be explained by the lack of welfare which incentivises them to work hard and make a living. In the west, somalis lack the incestive to work because the government is giving them money. Scandinavian countries are regarded as the go-to model of economic success but the numbers show that they were far more successful before the welfare system was introduced. Income inequality was lower and they lived longer. Scandinavians living in America are often times doing far better than those in their homeland. This is interesting when you consider the fact that Scandinavians who left for America were oftentimes poor. The only root to success is old fashioned hard work. Socialism doesn't work, and thus collectivism doesn't work. If you want to build a successful society, take away the welfare system and build a free market economy (with workers rights) and you'll see nuclear families rise and hard work will be seen as profitable. @Kezira @Menelik III Go back to the shitty dead site called Mejera.

A reason Somali businessmen do well in countries like Kenya and South Africa is due to both countries having a much larger population base (compared to 10 million Somalia) whichs more demand and more opportunities.

However, it wouldn't hurt that much if they invested back home especially in areas that need investment such as energy (Somalia has the most expensive energy costs in the world)

Is it because in order to uplift your self worth you point out the little success your country folk have had? I believe this to be an inherently Somalian trait. I see you guys fight about who has the most business people or which clan has the most success as if you are apart of the success. I guess it could be because of the clan family association? Either way, most Ethiopians and other groups of people don't really see the success of other members of their ethnicity as being note worthy of glorifying beyond the normal appreciation. I would say that we are happy for them and want more success among our people but it doesn't really go beyond that. I always hear Somalians say that they run kenya because of said individuals, then why are Somalians dying on a daily and being persecuted?
