The Habar Awal suldaan in practice is the Suldaan of Subeer Awal since he has always been crowned from the same subclan for hundreds of years. This is the family of Garaad Boon who was one of the most famous Garaads in the north.

I know they live in Kismayo and Baardheere and Ethiopia. They mostly live in Ethiopia I think. Never encountered one of them. Not completely sure on where they live but I know of Kismayo and Baardheere.
