The geopolitics of Somalia.

Let's start with southern Somalia. They have two major rivers, Jubba and Shabelle. Ethiopia holds a leverage over us since our rivers originate from Ethiopia. Even if Somalia manages to successfully re-capture the Somali region that is currently occupied by Ethiopia. The source of these rivers originate from the Oromia region (Bale mountains).

The Socotra islands which is right near to Somalia is controlled by Yemen and they are much further away from the islands than Somalia. In the future, it could pose a big threat if Somalia doesn't annex the islands or else Yemen can establish a military base in the future which would remain as a security threat to Somalia's mainland and could possibly affect our trading routes.

Kenya is taking advantage over Somalia's instability by claiming an area of sea in the south because that area is where oil is found and it's located between the black line which the U.N gave and it's an equal line but the green line is Kenya being greedy.

To avoid this is by annexing NFD including the Lamu region. This will not only Grant us more sea in the south but also, give us extra oil.

Now the only solution for Somalia to survive from these problems is to do it by force. Remember, the most powerful nations done it by force so Somalis must follow that step.

Before we can do anything outside somalia we need to unite ourselves and make an established government, every state should govern itself but should always be connected to the central government (including somaliland). You made a good point about coastal Muslims being subjugated by the savage pagans in the interior. What we can do is install a puppet government with Muslim coastal backgrounds and that way, Kenya will be under Somalia's sphere influence. We can also take all of the Tana river ourselves unlocking more agricultural production for Somalis.

As for Ethiopia, we need to annex both east Hararghe and Bale mountains. Why? Because East Hararghe surrounds the historical city of Harar which is the fourth holiest Islamic city in the world and it should not be under a Christian majority country like Ethiopia but a purely Muslim country that embraced Islam during the time of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) and that is Somalia. It should be in our hands and at the same time, we should take the Bale mountains which is the source for both Jubba and Shabelle valleys so that way our enemy cannot hold leverage over us.

On top of that East Hararghe have Somali origins but were assimilated by Gallas after the collapse of Adal Sultanate. What we can do is bring back their Somali identity.

Lastly, the Socotra islands which I already explained at the top would pose a security threat to Somalia since Yemen presence is very near to Somalia's mainland so we should annex those islands no matter what. Somalis actually settle on the interior of Lamu but the coastal areas are hardly populated. By the way, it's not only Swahilis but bunch of Madow tribes I can name. We'll keep the Swahilis but kick out the Madow migrants who make up the majority.
