Part 1
Ahmed who was a dual Somali and Dutch national lived in Birmingham, England, but the British intelligence services claimed that he was an active Jihadist who had contacts with Alshabab in Somalia. Ahmed complained of harassment from the secret services agencies and the cops. Ahmed went to Germany and got married and upon his return to England, he was refused entry due to an exclusion order against him. He and his wife moved to Egypt and after few months in Egypt, he and his wife were arrested in Egypt. He spent in jail for 7 months and after he was released, the Dutch embassy in Cairo assisted him to move him back to Holland where he lived since childhood. As soon as his plane landed in Istanbul on the way to Holland, he was arrested on an Interpol Red Alert issued by the Americans for extradition to the United States accusing him as a major terrorist actor. Turkey refused Ahmed to be extradited to America. But he wasn't completely free because the courts were waiting the minister of Justice to accept or appeal the ruling.

"I am the mother of Ahmed Diini, these people placed our feet into small sized shoes- we are unable to walk properly or go anywhere. Nowhere is safe, the only place that is safe is in Allah (swt) hands. You are sitting in Allah (swt) hands safely. I love you so much. Do not worry at all insa Allah. Part 2
When ISIS captured Turkish workers, the Turks reached a deal to swap prisoners with ISIS and the later demanded Ahmed Diini an his wife to be included as part of the deal. Thereby, Ahmed was voluntarily swapped with these Turkish workers and he fulfilled his dream of joining a Jihadist group and became an ISIS fighter.
"For example, Ahmed Diini, a Dutch citizen of Somali origin who was wanted by American authorities on terrorism charges, was handed to the Islamic State on Sept. 20, 2014, even though the U.S. government had requested that Turkey extradite him back to the U.S. for trial."
