You can't make this stuff up folks!!

They did use their full might, trillions of dollars of full might, but still got slapped up by mountain men wearing ripped sandals.
Do you really think that America used all their might as they did in ww2 to conquer Afghanistan?
Afghanistan was just a political tool George Bush and his administration used to get more conservative votes and later on Obama did as well to get patriot Americans to vote for him.

WW2 was a conventional war, this one was asymmetric. The US and NATO used their full might in terms of propaganda, financial assistance to the afghan government, weapons to assist them, training, military and logistical hardware, and air support. They spent trillions of dollars and dropped the “mother of all bombs” on Afghanistan, it did nothing but strengthen their resolve and now they’re stronger than ever. In 10 years we’ll see Afghan war veterans homeless with mental issues on the streets, disabled, humiliated, and cast aside by their government.

The only way the USA was ganna beat the Taliban was is if they went genocidal :manny: This would have cost millions of afghani lives and the USA would probably face heavy criticism from the international community.

That place is a geographically challenging area to fight in. The Soviets also witnessed it. Somalia should’ve finished of al shabaab a long time ago. And we also don’t get good weapons like the m16 like the Afghan army get.

They say Afghanistan is the graveyard of empires, all those who have tried before have failed

>Spend trillions of dollars bombing people living in tents from outer space...

>Stay for 20 years

>Needlessly kill thousands of your own young men and women, who just signed up for FREE tuition.

>Broke Cave Dwellers with AKs take over the country.

First of all the USA did not spend trillions of dollar on the Afghan war. As you said the USA only assisted the Afghan government but you have to also realize that the Americans also gave money to the Taliban via Pakistan. But besides all this, we wish the afghan people peace and a fair goverment:2tjlv3e:

I feel that the USA could have easily invaded the country if they saw it as a national threat but rather chose to assist the local Afghan government. But would the war be genocidal, is a yes since there is no war in history that hasn't committed war crimes.

You can tell yourself that if it helps you sleep at night sxb, the fact remains that every dollar they spent has gone to waste and the mujahideen have collected their spoils of war.

The disbelievers spend their wealth to hinder (man) from the path of Allah, and so will they continue to spend; but in the end they will have (only) regrets and sighs; at length they will be overcome: and the disbelievers will be gathered together to Hell [Anfal 36]
