The Sayyid was not a mainstream Sufi though, you need to remember that nobody follows Salihiyya outside of Somaliweyn. It is similar to other movements in N. Africa but that's really where it ends.It used to be common in the late 19th to early 20th centuries when sayiid maxamed AUN mass takfired the qadiriyya for seeking blessings from dead saints.
