I’m not talking about the ones that just came. I’m talking about the ones that have been in the country for a long time but never bother to learn the language because somalis don’t enforce it on them. Most somalis have an inferiority complex to arabs and see their language as superior, it’s so bad that even immigrants from arab countries are treated better than other somalis and instead of them learning somali, the somalis have to learn Arabic. It’s a big problem in our community especially back home and I’m addressing it. Not true. Go to xamar weyne or shingaani. The Arabs there have the audacity to ask you to speak to them in Arabic and don’t speak a shred of somali. Yemenis in the north have a similar attitude. They don’t bother to learn somali no matter how long they’re in the country for but with somalis, 1 month in an arab country and they’re fluent
