Somalis can compete with Ethios and Kenyans if they gain access to a nutritional diet , good coaching and a culture which encourages professional running .
This is basically non existent in Somalia . In the West , they are hindered by the popularity of other sports , drugs and a lack of family support . I know dudes who could have become runners or footballers but succumbed to khat and laziness .
