Somalia doesn't have a government or any capable leaders.. Look at the donkey claiming himself to be the president.. The country is hopeless.

Hassan sheikh mohamud is doing what is needed to stabilise Somalia. We should support him and stand by him. Al shabaab is our number one enemy.

I oftentimes hear about a false equivalence/comparison between Somalia and Rwanda. While both countries may have had a civil war and Rwanda having a deadlier outcome than us, the difference is that their war had a clear 'winner'.

The same Rwanda Patriotic Front who had a victory then are still ruling the country today under one president for 30+ years. Their gov't forced everyone to reconcile with each other, many of the perpetrators faced justice and installed a semi-authoritarian leadership that has been able to maintain stability and thus push with their developments.

Had one of the warring rebels or even MSB been able to retain power, Somalia would've looked differently today. In any case, I concur and hope that Xamar and Somalia may enjoy success one day.

The thing is someone actually won there civil war and has been in full power ever since. The tutsi qabil came out on top over the hutus. In somalia the qabils are still all at large and there still isn't a clear winner. As well as Al shabbab.

Keep in mind also that unlike them we had external interventions that broke the Islamic court and created al shabbab which keep the qabil war going.

Nigga didn't even support ssc who was waving the Somali flag against the secessionists north, he doesn't do anything of value, he is basically an invincible leader.. What has he achieved so far? Also why was an old failed leader elected to lead the country again? This is all due to corruption.. Shabab are no bigger enemies than corrupt politicians sxb.

Thats a good point. There's was no winner. Everyone just retreated to their regions which is today's maamul goboleed.

There's nothing much he could have done for ssc. His influence doesn't reach that far. The best thing he can do is probably recognise them as a state.

Can it be argued that Hawiye and usc won the civil war as they took the capital?

Of course he could've done a lot, after the liberation have you even seen him send his regards to them? He's acting like he's the president of one city and tribe, pretty much useless to lead a country with this kinda uproach.. If he visited all somali regions, gathered the masses and preached about unity and shared his vision for the future of the country and people, everyone would support him.. But he stays invincible like he only rules one city, how's that doing your best?

No, in a traditional sense, whoever controls the capital also controls the country. But that doesn't apply to Somalia. Moreover, after they ousted the then-gov't, infighting began within the rebel leaders, which opened up to new conflicts. The following stalemate took them back to square one as no one could really dominate the other.

Nonsense. Nobody asked HSM to send an army to Lascanood or provide military support. He should have condemned Somaliland and gave moral support for SSC.

HSM couldn’t even give condolences to the victims back in 2022. He gave Tacsi to Turkey and Syria before Laascaanood. He’s made it clear he has no interest in serving the people of somalia besides his clan.

I don't disagree with HSM approach. He needs to prioritize what's important. Right now fighting shabaab is the priority.

100%, Rwanda is blessed as alot those evil perpatrators of the Genocide faced justice or fleed, many were excuted and placed in comcentration prison camps

Murderers, Rapist, Evil people who commited crimes against Humanity are still walking free and happy in streets of Xamar today

It’s crazy to me how little the Tutsis were numbering and still took over. There’s some Somalinimo in them.
