I see it as a necessary evil but I'd prefer the Kenyan model of county government and a national government.

I think the Kenyan model work better (This will be the only time you will see me praise them) for three main reasons:

1: It affords the local governance desperate required by Somalis who still have reservation about a over-reaching central government

2: But it avoids the problems that come with Federal states. Federal states are so large that they can be a compete power with a central government and the boundary between Federal government and Federal states is blurry.

3: Allocation of ressource would be more straight-forward and it combines already existing mayor or local governance into an integrated model and would be easier to administrator.

Agreed but a competetion over the crumbs instead of building on the cake leaves us all poor, we've had 26 years with qabil rule and it has left us without a prideful place in the world.

That needs to change and we need to begin trust and pool power beyond clan borders.

What exactly has the federal government provided to merit its authority over a region it can't or care for? We aren't competing for resources, we're competing for aid which doesn't often get past Mogadishu, and to a similar extent regional authorities. With an incompetent federal government, each region should focus on developing itself and make use of local resources. It makes no sense to shoot yourself in the foot like that.
