I see it as a necessary evil but I'd prefer the Kenyan model of county government and a national government.
I think the Kenyan model work better (This will be the only time you will see me praise them) for three main reasons:
1: It affords the local governance desperate required by Somalis who still have reservation about a over-reaching central government
2: But it avoids the problems that come with Federal states. Federal states are so large that they can be a compete power with a central government and the boundary between Federal government and Federal states is blurry.
3: Allocation of ressource would be more straight-forward and it combines already existing mayor or local governance into an integrated model and would be easier to administrator.
What about you @black?
In an ideal world a unitary government. I think Somalia should aspire for functional federalism, but right now I support the full autonomy of Somaliland and Puntland. TFG cannot be trusted with centralised power, nor can they be expected to resolve local problems. Not to mention we're transitioning from the qabil system which is inherently divisive.
Disagree, full autonomy usually increases qabil division as every qabil want their own state.
You can't expect a miracle to happen all parts of Somalia has to come together or will eternally be at the bottom.
That's because the TFG, Somaliland and Puntland are all incompetent governments. 0+0+0
Agreed but a competetion over the crumbs instead of building on the cake leaves us all poor, we've had 26 years with qabil rule and it has left us without a prideful place in the world.
That needs to change and we need to begin trust and pool power beyond clan borders.
The original is much better. This sounds like a Arabic nasheedI will be playing this in the forseeable future in Hargeisa, at the inauguration of our collective President
I'm a girl with a simpel dream of being able to sing this in the streets of Mogadishu
She's a troll. You don't know where she's going and coming from. She's condemning SFG one day and then praising it the other day.
I believe Puntites are wadanis of Puntland.
Viva la Puntland.
