It is useless semi desert land for the most part compared to Europe (fertile & gets rain all the time). Look at all that greenery.

If Somalis had Dr Congo then yes it would have made sense bragging about land.

That can be repaired easily. Semi arid means damaged soil that can be replaced to hold more water and refil aquifers.

Do you really see our ppl doing this and planting trees tho?

The land is blessed. The ppl are cursed.

“50%”and “belongs”is over doing it. 5 people in 1km is barely owning anything.
Ps: why doesn’t anyone ever acknowledge the hawiye and samaale expansion @Mckenzie

walahi i laughed hard when he said 50%, in reality Mjs control only a small portion of Somalia, here below are the Clan States sizes, you will see that Galmudug without Northern Mudug is just a bit smaller than Puntland;

Yep when you are flying over Europe on the way to UAE for example all you will see is hundreds km of crop fields. For Somalia all you will see for the most part is unfortunately.

When it rains the entire region turns green, which means that the soil is very rich in nutrients. With proper water management & irrigation the land wouldn’t be looking so dry

That is seasonal grassland not permanent. What Somalia needs is over 100+ million trees to green the country.
Billions sxb. Trees keep the soil healthy.

Healthy soil refills aquifers. Filled aquifers create springs and permanent river tributaries. It's a cycle that depends on nature and man to continue for eternity. We really need to look after the land and reverse the desert.

It is not about how big land, you got, but how big brain you have. look at the difference
between the DRC and Singapore. Somalia and Singapore. :mindblown:

I know what you mean but that's a huge amount of land is what I am saying.
Thats true but humans have done far more impressive feats when properly organized with far less technology. A single man in India on his revitalized an entire forest on his own by planting a tree (maybe more can't remember) everyday for 30 years.

We got dealt a horrible hand, considering how much resources other African nations have. If the Early Somali's had settled where Kenya is today, we'd be so much wealthier :jcoleno:

We'd be Kenyans then :wow:

Most of Bantus in east Africa were our cushitic cousins who took up farming and gradually mixed with the incoming Bantu migrants until they lost their old languages and barely resemble us anymore.

Our dusty ass land actually isolated us from that destiny and gave us our identity.

Wrong. The land was never dusty. Even the Sahara was green until nomads went there. Don't be ignorant. Our land has damaged soil because of tree cutting over many years for charcoal and firewood and overgrazing.

The land was green until we damaged the soil and dried up the aquifers. What are you on about? Have you even read any research on ancient east Africa? Hell there is evidence to support the fact that the land was much greener 100yrs ago when the British arrived.

Go and read up brother. Learn our shame and ignorance. We humans destroy land.
