I am pleased to announce our first competition of the year. SomaliSpot will be hosting this year's chess tournament with the help of last year's runner-up, @angelplan.

Registration is open for 2 weeks until the 12th of June (12 PM GMT) and the first match will be held the following day. Registration may be closed earlier if 31 members register to participate. This year's winner and runner-up will receive Amazon gift cards, custom tags, and other forum perks.

Everyone is welcome to participate, regardless of skill level. The tournament will be managed by @angelplan. If you have any questions regarding the tournament, please use this thread.

We will play on lichess.org. You don't need to make an account. Just click play against friend and share the link with your opponent in private message and then both of you ready to play share the link in this thread so others follow the match online. No Match is valid without Somalispot spectators.

How will it work with time-zones and all of that

Once you know your opponent you two will work out your match day and share the link of match live here so we follow the game with you. No Match is valid without Somalispot spectators.
