In Djibouti we picked up a love for fish with the Yemeni migrant who came and set up shops for us selling their sea cuisine. Mix in some seasoning and spices from India and you got a Macaan dish Walahi.Depends on which Somalis we are talking about. Some rural Somalis straight up look down at eating anything from the sea while reer Xamar Somalis and Somalis from Djibouti have more fish and vegetables in their diet.
Somalis need to look at the Mediterranean diet. More fish, less sugar, more meat (Somalia's meat consumption per capita is very low due to poverty), more whole grains, and more vegetables.

I'm surprised that meat consumption is low, my family isn't rich and we still had a few goats around. We ate at least some amount of meat daily. Fresh also. Either from the butcher and on special occasions like eid of get together ayeeyo or someone else would pull out the long ass machete and smoke the innocent Ari

I grew up eating lentils/beans, or eggs with laxoox/bread for lunch, I can't until 1pm, usually have rice and a side of spinach, lamb/beef suqaar for dinner. We suffer from malnutrition bro
We break our fast with laxoox and shah and have dinner with sabaayad This is why Somalis die early especially men View attachment 313842
I reckon our ancestors got sick and tired of eating fish and banned it completely lol.Depends on which Somalis we are talking about.
