Somalis shot dead by the Ethiopian army in Sitti

Maya walaal, I’m not surprised by anything with regards to the Sitti situation. I’m well versed of the plans by Abiy & Co. for the region.

I even posted this earlier (below).

Anyone with any slight information on the ground knows that the Afars don’t have the capabilities to do anything on their own. Previously Cisse could fend of the Afars pretty much on their own, and now the losses (human lives and land) is beyond measurable, with sufferings on a mass scale.

Future looks bleak for Somalis. Today is diredhaba, tomorrow it will be jigjgia, and before you know it, it will be wardheer and mustahil. It's a terrible time to be Somali, specially Somali from Somali galbeed.

What were they doing in bale?
Anytime there was a border conflict, cabdi ilay sent his liyuu police to cross the border.

this is how jarso oromo were treated before abiye.

man the ONLF should never have gone to war with the tigray regime. Missed opportunity to develop and used that opportunity. I say this because it turns out we have the same fears, and now we are both suffering under amhara supremacy. If we never went to war with them, we could have gotten more development, and our region would not be under oromo, amhara and afar threat today.

To be frank the more deep analysis you make, the harder it becomes harder to make a reasonable pick between Tigrayans and Amharas. Both of them dislike us, they only thing we share with Tigrayans is de-centralization/federalism. Though, they had no problems concentrating power during their reign and only started begging when Amharas made an example of them.

Remember, how TPLF did us dirty in the 90s. And they refused to resonate with us, when we were open to work with them. That's when ONLF started picking up arms.

Don't forget the 2004 referendum, when large parts of the Somali region was handed over to Oromia. Which was the start of all border problems we see today. No other regions with 'disputed areas' went through the same thing. They didn't even let Somali land that was handed to Afar region, decide their fate. What does this tell us? It was intentional.

Aside from these factors, they had no problems with us as long as we remained in our land and didn't bother the federal gov't. That's why they left Abdi Iley alone, despite everything he did. But you're right, I don't think we'll ever go back to that stage of 'autonomy' from Addis ever again.

the think is Amharas are doing the same to us. When it comes to killing and genocide, they are both the same. What makes the tigrays different is that they are not after our lands because they do not border us like the oromo. They were also not interested in planting their people in the somali region like the amhara. Jigjiga is now full of amharas, tigrays never settled in our lands like that. They are far the lesser of the two evils.

Agreed. I was just referering to how Tigrayans turned into Ethiopianist as soon as they took over power, considering how they otherwise are for minimizing the role of the central gov't. Other than this, you're correct with regards to Amharas.

The Tigray waged the bloodiest war in the 21st century against the Ethiopian government, and after losing, they are getting rewarded with Western Tigray.

Meanwhile the loyal Somalis are getting their land stolen by the Oromo and Afar governments.

somali unity wont come from "aan wada tashanno aan wada hadalno aan wada heshiinno". somali unity will mostly come through dil iyo xoog iyo brutality. painful truth.

Hey atleast no one is celebrating the Ciise getting killed by Ethiopians, I remember at the peak of Kenyan arial bombardment of Ceelwaaq there were plenty of people on here celebrating it, I won't cross those lines ever no matter how I feel about a clan, and especially if its a Somalia clan, but I honestly can't sit here and pretend that I care about a Ciise who sharpen his teeth somewhere in the Afar desert lol.

The development of region seems to be deteriorating by the day

Just like the clockwork (and as I predicted), 'fightings' erupted yesterday between local Somalis and organized Afars units. This times, from several fronts inside Sitti. A couple of casualties have been reported thus far.

Here's BBC radio talking about it, in the beginning of the program.

An interview with a local Somali man in the affected areas.

Regarding the situation in Ayshaca, the district have been under complete military siege for the past 3 days. No civilian movement is allowed, in or out of the Ayshaca and surrounding areas. People are restriced from leaving their homes. Some managed to flee to Djibouti when the military started targeting the locals. The confirmed casualties is at least a dozen, while several dozens have 'disappeared' and are unaccounted for.

At least a thousand trops have been sent there, for 'reinforcements'

To make matters worse, when the shot the civilians manifesting, they refused the relatives of the victims' to collect the injured and dead people. Only later on could they pick up, as they were dropped off in other part of the area, by the military.

Here's the former Somali State Minister of Boundaries Ali Samrie talking about the events in Sitti.

He's was fired by Cagjar in January, when he held a press conference at the height of the fightings caused by the Oromo state building a dam in Tuli Guleed, DDS. He condemned Oromia, as well as the Afar region, and urged the regional gov't to protect civilians in the border areas. But he was unfortunately booted from his ministerial role, for simply doing his duties.
