One thing is for sure, the Somali-Gulf Community has the best reputation in the eyes of the locals compared to any other community in the diaspora, every relative I know that lives there either wants to be buried in the Gulf or go back home eventually, no interest in the West. The Somali-Gulf Community is far more self-sufficient, resourceful, much more established, and far richer than any other in the diaspora. Their trade with Somalia alone was worth $1.3 billion a decade ago, that number should be much higher today, then factor in the Gulf trade volume with other East African countries, which is also in Somali hands going as far the Congos or how most of the major Somali companies were all kickstarted there and it makes sense why that community is much more successful than the western ones, despite all the legal restrictions.
If those same Gulf states didn’t have exclusionist legal mechanisms in place (the same ones Somalia also used to have in its original Constitution) then a Gulf father would have little to no incentive to reject a Somali son in-law from marrying his daughter considering they actually grew up with Somali boys in school, see them on a regular basis win Quran competitions across the Muslim World, majority of them held in Gulf States (where these events are televised like its the Premier League in England) and the wider community itself is seen in a positive light.
This whole thread is kind of meaningless though as Somali men, in general, if they could choose a woman 10 different times would pick a Somali woman 9 out of those 10 times, and the one outlier Ajanabi would have to be some kind of extraterrestrial once in a generation beauty. The Somali police officers and soldiers in the Gulf eligible for citizenship still stick with their own womenfolk.
