Black vs White race is mostly an american concept. Black is used to describe the people brought over as slaves who no longer have a connection to their actual racial group. You can identify as both, I identify myself as, Somali first as my ethnicity, And black as my race.
If someone asks what I am, They already know I’m black by my skin color so I say Somali.
