I’ve been on this forum for about a month now and everytime i see the words dark skin and duxul I automatically know somebody is going to say something stupid and colorist! Why do somalis do this your probably wondering it’s because of generations of people using being dark skin as a negative thing

Numerous users ive encountered use the famous line “ I’m not black I’m somali” in countless threads what are you to the polices eyes ? What are you to the Arabs eyes? What are you to the white peoples eyes because I can tell you 100% they think they’re better than you so snap out of you stupid superiority complexes . Just because we don’t have West african features doesn’t mean we are any better than them! Our features are from 1000s years of adapting to the Sahara desert like weather ! Don’t qoute me on it I’m not 100 sure

I agree with the colorism stuff but fact of the matter is that Somalis have historically been averse to the label of “black,” and that’s just not going to change anytime soon, nor are they obligated to identify with it if I’m being completely honest

So you want us to say white men are superior to us like the AA’s?
White or black or a desert are not superior to Somalis. Somalis are superior to all of them, that is the mindset. If you want to be AA wannabe go ahead nobody cares but don’t come here crying to us for not identifying ourselves as .

I’m Somali, I identify Somali, nobody is superior to me other than Allah the almighty.

Somalis are weird. I have not been socially engineered to see myself as anything other than Somali. Looking for outsiders to identify you is unbelievably passive. Ethnicity is the closest and most accurate barometer for race to us. I've never once confused a non-Horner for being Somali. :siilaanyolaugh: Even then, I don't mistake Habeshis for Somali. Some Somalis deliberately act obtuse when you tell them about these things, they mistake it for wisdom or something, I don't know.
Just let it be.
