Somalis and self hate

I’ve been on this forum for about a month now and everytime i see the words dark skin and duxul I automatically know somebody is going to say something stupid and colorist! Why do somalis do this your probably wondering it’s because of generations of people using being dark skin as a negative thing

Numerous users ive encountered use the famous line “ I’m not black I’m somali” in countless threads what are you to the polices eyes ? What are you to the Arabs eyes? What are you to the white peoples eyes because I can tell you 100% they think they’re better than you so snap out of you stupid superiority complexes . Just because we don’t have West african features doesn’t mean we are any better than them! Our features are from 1000s years of adapting to the Sahara desert like weather ! Don’t qoute me on it I’m not 100 sure

So because a racist white man sees me as Black, i have to submit and subscribe to his views and forget all about my history, culture, ethnicity? Just because of some racist Arabs and whites, wallahi i couldn't care less about what they think of me, and im not gonna let them shape my reality.

If you go to Europe, and ask a random white person what are you, they'll say they are French, German, English, Irish, Danish etc..
But they are all white. Why is that?

I agree with the colorism stuff but fact of the matter is that Somalis have historically been averse to the label of “black,” and that’s just not going to change anytime soon, nor are they obligated to identify with it if I’m being completely honest

Oh I see what you are saying. Tell me, what makes the black race? What makes someone black? Is it having ancestors from Africa? If so, why about Berbers? Is it having a black skin color? If so, what do you say for Tamils and Sra Lankans? What would a person need to look like to claim black?
