Somalis and Oromos enjoying eid together last year

If we exclude the Oromo speaking Gurgura Dir then ethnic Oromos only constitute 20% of the population. The only reason why Oromos are even a factor in Dirdhaba is because they exploit the rivalry between the Gurgura Dir and Isse Dir.

we do not exploit it, but the gurgura speak our language for the most part, or at least, a significant portion of them do. they marry us and we marry from their women. somalis in general are my brothers and sisters, and i often find myself having to check my own oromo kin when they say bad things or anything wrong about somalis. so i expect fair and Allah-fearing, Somalis, to do the same.
from what i researched, gurgura are somali in origin, but heavily oromo influenced, to a certain extent.
while the jarso, akisho, are oromo in origin, but somali-ized [from living with gerri kombe, gadabursi, habr awal, and the jidwaq in jigjiga to a lesser extent],.

Interesting, I too heard the jaarso and akisho are Oromo in origin as there is an Oromo clan called akichu who practice the gada Oromo cultural system of belief.

Concerning the habar awal section of Isaaq, I heard they marry heavily into akisho/akichu group for reasons such as dia payments (where a clan would pay a larger clan for protection against camel theft, clan bullying and land loss etc) in this case the akisho would enter into a xeer (cultural/tribal law) agreement with the larger clan the habar awal and henceforth be called sheegads (pretenders)

the above is from I.M Lewisโ€™s book A study of pastoralism and politics in the northern Somali

The below is from the Oromo Wikipedia page which lists the akisho as Oromo

Anyone whoโ€™s an expert in Somali or Oromo clans able to confirm?

Sudanese Beja from Red Sea state (region) and Saho from Eritreaโ€™s Red Sea state are overwhelmingly HG-T. So itโ€™s definitely one of the lineages brought by our Proto Cushitic ancestors.

Also Ajuuraan, from what Iโ€™ve heard, are predominantly HG-T but with minor E-M293 and E-V32.

Wait, I thought the Somali subclade of T-M184 was different to other HOA/East Africa subclades? Isn't T-Y44591 more recent?

Yes but I was talking about HG-T in general. High frequencies of this haplogroup is found among the Fellahin of South Egypt, Beja and Saho.

In Africa the diversity of the haplogroup is also highest in the Red Sea area. This area is most likely the dispersal point for Y45591 since the only known carriers are Somalis (Dir, Isaaq etc), Djiboutian Afar and some Arabs in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
