Somalia comes from the term Somali which was latinized by Italian with the final A to mean land of the somalis. I think our name was much cooler when we called ourselves Somali Republic as the word "somali" is an indigenous name. If I was a lander i would prefer Waqooyi as a name since it means north but also has a traditional significance derived from the ancient somali god Waaq.

somal is the correct name. the somali name for india should be hind like arabic. because indians are called hindi. just like somalis are called somali. because the name should be somal. -ia -land are foreign suffixes.

I have to go with french and Arabic as the top beautiful languages in the world. French was always rated above Italian and although gulf Arabic isn't rated as much, I think it's one of the most gorgeous languages.
