Essentially Somaliland will never be given international recognition under an illiberal or authoritarian Somalia (meaning the regime in Mogadishu). Your real enemies are the Hawiye, not the Darod. They control the capital and the fate of all other Somalis, including you.
The Taiwanese model of semi-recognition is unlikely for Somaliland since the super powers have no interest in you. This only leaves you under the mercy of whoever rules Mogadishu and is recognized by the international community.
