Somaliland Ictiraaf has actually decreased in likelihood than improved. They went from meeting the US, French etc in the 90s to now a few small countries.

US, beesha caalamka have more interest in Somalia than SL (with its disputed borders). SL now deal directly with Somalia ambassadors and sign deals with US/etc without even asking for ictiraaf. Berbera base is an example of a one way deal.

As long as SL has no control over its borders, it’s never getting recognition. They should hurry up as a Somalia free from Shabaab and conducting 1m1v from Puntland to JL will be a massive PR loss for SL

Inshallah we can come to a deal through talks. Somalia is a larger country, with stronger international partners and so we should focus on increasing prosperity. We just need to change the dynamics and have SL benefit from the union rather than be for us to be a drag to them.
