Somaliland argues secession based on colonial borders. There was no colonial border in the north as each had separate treaties with the british which meant separate 'territories' and no 'president' to represent their region to the britain as they talked with 'each' tribe separately on separate treaties because there was no kingdom or anything over there and why you want find 'presidents'.
The only time they came together was in 1960 to agree on 'unity' with Mogadishu or else each would've gone his separate way based on their own treaties and speaking to britain on each of their own agreements being separate and where they would prefer to be.
They act like their some 'unified' somaliland treaty, there isn't. Their borders hold no merit at all and why only 'SNM' created it and no-one else participated in it's founding and why they still need to enforce it thru violent measures and thus being 'tribal' project and not contributing at all to a somali solution. I suggest @Bohol gets out of this failed project which was really created for 'habar awal' purposes and clear as day for anyone to see that. Hobyo. They had two different leaders and you would expect the same in the 'north' because Warsangeli had his own leader and sultan and darawish didn't even sign it so it's an 'occupation' as far as they are concerned. PL could easily resurrect 'majertenia' and consider 'hobyo' defunct now or it can pursue it as it's land rights.
