It seems that sector is in full retreat. The peak for Bosaso was 12 years ago in 2006, and the peak for Berbera was 6 years ago in 2012. Land degradation is starting to catch up with Somalia's ability to raise export quality livestock it seems. The largest economic sector is in absolute decline.

Damn tho most Somali livestock goes thru berbera. Imagine if the private sector in Somaliland could make a meat processing plants rather than exporting animals. Similar thing to the fishing industry
