It's wonderful that you brought that attack. It happened when the hawiye leader recently died. There was a power vaccuum and Al-Shabab attacked Hargeisa. However, Al-Shabab never attacked hargeisa (and may they never attack it) after it got an Isaaq leader in Godane. Since Godane took over in 2009 the entire of Somaliland was saved from their terror, while they wrecked havoc from Kismayo to Bosaso. I remember yesterday some neef was bragging about makeshift checkpoints between SL cities. Checkpoints made of casks and sticks ( I kid you not)

That's a lie. Somaliland doesn't arrest them, in fact the Isaaq community recommends it. Here's an eyewitness report from a German political science professor on how Somaliland community closes its eyes on their jihadis, large section of this community even sees it as a good mix of Jihad and destruction on their enemy clans.
