Yeah I know the areas like gabiley and borama etc are good for farming

Somalia as a whole is not a dense country by any means but it really is a wasteland between the Shabelle and western SL. Boosaaso area is a slight exception but there’s pretty much nothing going on in that region besides that.

Yeah I didn’t know Boosaaso was that big. For some reason you only ever hear diaspora PLers talk about Garowe. Why Garowe over Boosaaso?

100% but even in the Siad Barre era the proportions weren’t that different. If I’m being honest the plurality of my qabiil (Murusade) is probably in Banaadir if not the majority. @Step a side would he more knowledgeable though.

They sure have. Good chunk of reer Galmudug have migrated to Banaadir over the past 10 years.

Shabaab hasn’t helped us either. Many many people have moved to Xamar the last 15 years. My personal family has been removed from Galgaduud for 90-100+ years.

majority of my recent family 1st -2nd and 3rd cousins are still nomads I’m trying to encourage them to move to the city or start farming
