Somalia’s oil exploration to conclude by April 2025, signalling potential economic boom

And oil drilling has been confirmed, brilliant. “Somalia has no oil” kulaha 😂 💴 💴💴💴💴
Anyone who thought Somalia didn’t have oil particularly offshore is just a fool. A simple look at its geographical location indicates its likelihood. The question was always the quantity of oil not if there is any oil.

Some people get off on the idea of Somalia never having any real potenial. To people like that the idea of Somalia in reality actually having huge oil reserves that could change the destiny of the country was too much for them.

I disagree, people have heard oil - oil - oil for decades. Even over the last 15 years constant “Somalia will start drilling by the end of the year” on and on.

It’s also true Somalia needs a magic saviour, oil, to get us out of this shit show. So I can understand people putting the hopes of a nation on it.

I mean I could somewhat understand that. But did they not notice that we signed a contract and then a literal research vessel explored the coast for several months. A ship mind you that probably cost ten million or more to build.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Somalia had the largest oil reserves in the world. I said it from the beginning. With the right people in governance, Somalia is technically a superpower.

There has never been any official news of driling, and Siad gave exploration rights to shell and exon but due to instability they never got to drill any

This is the advantage of having a stable government, I hate FGS more than Ethiopia but its still better than no government

Whats crazy is that 20B barrels were found in just two blocks, wallahi theres a chance that we have more offshore onshore and inland oil than saudi

But Im kinda worried oil becomes less important in the coming decades, everything turning electric and renewable
Nothing confirmed yet and only three blocks have been surveyed.

At the very least it would be cheap energy for us to industrialise quickly.

Excluding the oil blocks of puntland and Somaliland? If you add those two states. I wouldn't be surprised if Somalia has at least 400 billion barrels of oil. Plus onshore. 😂

234 billion USD a year on welfare for 24 million somalis.

Payments of $1500 USD for 18 and over
Payments of $750 a months for those under 18

Adds to roughly 234 billion (estimate)

Create jobs for the youth

Free health care

Business grants

I asked chatgpt. Apparently 13 million somalis are over 18. And 11 million somalis and under 18. I don't know if this is accurate.

To produce $234 billion USD in annual revenue from oil, assuming an average price of $75 per barrel, you would need to produce approximately 3.12 billion barrels of oil. This calculation is based on a simple division of the target revenue by the assumed price per barrel, but the actual amount of oil needed could vary significantly based on actual market prices and production costs.

Here's a breakdown:

  • Target Revenue: $234,000,000,000 (234 billion USD)
  • Assumed Oil Price: $75 per barrel
  • Calculation: 234,000,000,000 / 75 = 3,120,000,000 barrels
This would provide for the Somali race each year
