Infact women r far more loyal to the clan then males are. That's what I observed. Women tend to be backbone in Somalia controlling the household in most 'moderate n liberal' families. Extremist families is kind of arabian model. Alot r single moms becuz they end up marrying some sheikh or wadaad for (social status) and then they realize they cant live like that and divorce. Then liberal/moderate type of male if they marry, they tend to be deadbeats and absent and chewing khat and tribal talk. I really do feel for Somali women, you really got bad choices no wonder many marry out.
Its been known absent fathers and single mom raised kids are disadvantaged, they make up 80% of the prisoners in the usa. 70% of suicides/drug use. An present n active father can change a child life and future. But i've seen some success stories from single mothers but it's rare when u look at the over-all picture. They tend to have more 'abtiyaal support' involved in the kids life.
Alot of single mom kids attach themselves to the mosque which can turn out bad as they join terrorists and find that father figure in a sheikh.
