Somali Salafi says the civil war was a blessing because it brought salafism to Somalia

I'm not talking about Islam.. I'm talking about Wahhabism. Just because I'm a muslim means I have to support Arabs? lmaoo

The whole religion itself started amongst Arabs, the Quran is in Arabic, etc. It is nuts to be a Muslim and anti-Arab. If you're going to say "this is Arab" and reject stuff, by that logic you could reject the whole religion. The Quran is in Arabic- by that logic you could reject the Quran. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was Arab- by that logic you could reject Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

I mean... yes, niqab started amongst Arabs. The whole religion started amongst Arabs. If you're going to say "this is Arab" and reject stuff, by that logic you could reject the whole religion.

If they can start whole sectors of Islam that promotes extremism why can't I be against it without being anti Arab and Islam came from Allah not Arabs

I mean sure "Islam came from Allah not Arabs". Sure.

But the Quran is in Arabic is it not? If you tried to remove everything that was Arab/Arabic, you would remove so much of the religion, you would end up removing the religion entirely.

Aisha covered the face. So are you going to say she was extremist? Are you going to say she was "wahhabi"?

Even if every city in Somalia was liberal, millions being displaced and countless deaths a whole country destroyed was worth it because women in somalia now wear jilbaab and niqab :farmajoyaab:
Salafism is a disease and our people will never be free until we rid ourselves of this dangerous ideology
They are low IQ machiavellist at least most of them are.

What’s more important is the issue of munafiqs. There are a lot of Somali gaals who just don hijab or pretend to pray.

Arab doesnt equal muslim. A significant amount of arabs are jewish and christian. Arab culture is not muslim culture. Is belly dancing (which is arab) islamic culture? Are Paula Abdul and Shakira Muslim? The logic of wahabbis is zero.

Not everything Arab is Muslim. That is not my argument. My argument is that rejecting something on the basis of it being Arab/Arabic is not a valid argument. There is a difference and to attack a misrepresentation of my argument rather than my actual argument is to commit the strawman fallacy.

tbh the stronger evidence points to it being fard. I don't control what you do but we're both free to our viewpoint. as for myself, I've looked at the evidence and I do believe the view that it's fard has stronger evidence.

I discussed this in 2018:

"Honestly, I sort of hate to say this- not because I don't believe this- but because I don't want to offend.....

but I agree with the Kurdish girl. What is so special about a woman's hair? Frankly, who cares about a woman's hair? A man is interested in the face. The face and then some other stuff... the hair is further down the list. When guys talk about girls- they don't talk about the hair. I am with the Kurdish girl and I agree with her point. I am with Assim Al Hakeem on this and he explains it better than I can.

@from about 3:50 he explains what I am talking about

https://islamqa.info/en/answers/11774/ruling-on-covering-the-face-with-detailed-evidence

I don't take this side because of any desires on my part- I honestly wish I could take the other opinion- it would be a lot more popular and a lot easier. However, when the matter is examined objectively and we look at the evidence- I think the evidence for the position of IslamQA and Assim Al Hakeem is stronger. I think the Kurdish girl was right with what she said and I agree with her. I think what she said makes perfect sense."

Siyaad Barre was actually the messiah of the Somali people. He was born among us to deliver us from Fitnah! He made enemies of the Americans and Soviets, Ethiopia and pretty much every qabiil of his own people to destroy us and allow the Salafis to spread their ways. Praise Aabo Siyaad! Praise!

I honestly fear what Wahhabism will do to Islam and Islam among Somalis. We're lucky we at least don't have a hardline "Islamist" regime that forces rules like what you used to see and still somewhat see in Saudi Arabia. A significant portion of their youth, from what I gather, are now gaalrac and/or atheistic. The same goes for Iran and this is all due to the hardline religious regime. You don't force the deen on people. They will begin associating it with repression and oppression like little children with overly strict parents then when they finally get a little self-determination they'll be just like those kids and go wild with all sorts of saqajanimo that would make even cadaans gasp a little. This won't happen with the entire population of course but a significant enough percentage of it to be disheartening.

Why I say salafism is a gateway to athiesm, the rules are extreme and repressive because they take the literalist approach and they make the religion devoid of any spiritualism. Speak to sunni ex-mozes and you'll se that they mostly come from salafi households, very rare to come across an ex-moze who comes from a sufi household.
