He was a bit inflammatory, but he is right in that you must help yourself and pray for the best after.

These people are beyond help. If they want to continue to suffer, let them be. I was asked to provide Ramadan aid last week for the poor relatives back home but it'll be my last or otherwise they'll be asking my grandkids to pony up dough. They never pull themselves up by the bootstraps.

G*d bless the West!

To each their own
"Freedom of speech" and "Somaliland" is an oxymoron in itself.

They like to to suppress reason and logics just to further their pipe dream.

How low can one be to do that?

A local man speaks up (first time ever?) and they throw his ass in jail on blasphemy charges given by a kangaroo court with a Sheikh as it's judge. He was only given a few years because he obviously belongs to a big powerful clan. His sentence only silences the few others who would like to stop their people's misery.

The NGOs and the masses are pleased about this ruling. They want that international aid and remittances to continue to flow. Halimo will continue to pester her 6th cousin Abdi to feed her khat and restaurant food habit and if he ignores her WhatsApp messages , she will somehow call him with her North American area code to disguise herself. And of course the shameless NGOs with retarded names like Hooyos Making Halwa will continue to bring out their begging bowls and claim it is for their 10 initiatives they have been claiming to have been doing for years but all we see are the 10 expensive assets they own, most of which are in Nairobi or Dubai.

He made a fb post saying that praying to God for water is not a good strategy for managing drought

https://samaynta.com/index.php/2019...is-not-a-viable-tragedy-for-managing-drought/

In that Facebook post, Ahmed-Hamdi criticized the apathetic approach taken to drought in Somalia, where people pray to God instead of taking proactive steps to resolve recurring droughts. Ahmed-Hamdi said Somalis should learn from “advanced societies” such as in the United States and Europe and address drought by “making rain.”

:dabcasar: Thank you for that very productive input, akhi. We should've honestly thought of that first. Now we know that if a drought next time hits us, we'll just make it rain. :)

It's a very possible, more productive alternative to the status quo.
