No, you can't recite the Quran in foreign language. If you do its not Quran anymore.I know these people have bad intentions but I'm wondering if it's considered not good to recite quran In somali? Like to yourself when reading in bed for example.
I donโt think this is kufr saaxib unless if you can show an evidence from the sunnah
I don't get why it's such an issue to have a translation on hand. Aside from. The fact this group may not be doing this for a good reason.somalis memorize the quran and donโt even know tasir or the meaning of the words theyโre reciting. if your just reciting the translation howโs that a problem?
A translation isnโt the problem but prioritising a mere interpretation of the Quran over the actual thing is. A translation doesnโt have the same effect spiritually compared to the Arabic which is the actual words of God whilst a translation isnโtI don't get why it's such an issue to have a translation on hand. You can't expect a billion Muslims worldwide to learn Arabic just to understand the Quran. Allah surely wouldn't have given each tribe our own languages if the message was locked behind a single one.
A translation to recite and understand the meaning of the Quran is just as important, how can you sit down and discuss Islam if you cannot comprehend a single verse.
People that rank ethnic pride above the deen are a huge red flag

No, you can't recite the Quran in foreign language. If you do its not Quran anymore.
why would you memorize the translation, though? the translation isn't going to one hundred percent capture the meaning.
also you mention the tafsir. the translation isn't going to include the tafsir either.
I'm not claiming it's wrong to memorize the translation. I claim it's weird.
If some person comes up to you and recites the Yusuf Ali translation of the meaning of the Quran- will you be impressed or think it's weird?
And what if they memorized the whole translation from cover to cover?
Wouldn't that be silly? With that same effort, they could have memorized some of the actual Quran.
Also- even if you recite the Quran without understanding, you are still rewarded for it. But then even if you don't- it isn't hard to look at the translation as you learn the ayat.
