somalis are very hypervisible lol.. If you were to ask the average minnesotan what’s the percentage of somalis in Minnesota… what would their answer be? I saw someone discuss this on tiktok awhile ago and random whites & black americans responded with numbers ranging from 10-30%💀 somalis are only around 1% of the population of Minnesota.

alot of the overblown and distorted discourse around somalis stems from this hypervisibility which creates this false impression that Somalis make up a huge share of the population

Don’t think it’s necessarily about the government. You have to be willing to participate in the census. I personally haven’t ever participated even though I’ve been asked. This could easily lead to undercounting.
