I know it's haram and even if it wasn't I would frown upon its usage. But my point is comparing this to qaniisnimo is foolhardy to say the least.

In our culture it's viewed as effeminate but in most around the world it isn't always viewed in that light. So when your child adorns an earring they are obviously following a different culture. And that culture isn't always some qaniis turning ploy creating by zionists like the vast majority of somalis online seem to believe. Sometimes it's just seeing a cool character on TV or trying to emulate hip hop personas. Still bad but not like what some folk here are describing.

Simply educate your child, have the piercing removed (hopefully the hole heals) and voila. The issue is quite literally solved. I wore an earing since I was 16 and had a nose stud for several years and there are more things to worry about a teenager's life-style than an earing. Piercings on lips and mouths originated from ancient African cultures, while ear and nose piercings originated from Jewish traditions some 5000 years ago.
