Earrings on males is khaniis-like behaviour/movements. I don't care that in adoon "hip-hop culture, earrings are seen as swag iyo fashionable".
We are Somalis not madow adoons. We need to follow our geeljire miyi culture.
word? do u rock a macawiis and shaal everywhere then?
niggas don't follow 90% of Somali culture, but all of a sudden become a geeljire when it's convenient![]()
He lives in Halifax. You can't get more white than that
that's not Somali culture tho, ur a gaal wanna fam by ur own logicI wear suit and ties, or dress casually. I don't wear those madow fitted hats or khaniis curved hats that these young Somali youth wear. I don't wear tight-pants or have on a shaati that's jeexaan. I dress in a presentable and professional manner.
that's not Somali culture tho, ur a gaal wanna fam by ur own logic![]()
I'm actually dead famI dress like that walaal because unfortunately in my maagalaad, Somalis are viewed horribly. I have to uphold the akhlaq that our geeljire miyi forefathers have carried down to us.
I don't like that Somalis have adopted "madow hip-hop culture". We have our own culture and have our own morals and ethics. The madow people are unfortunate people because they went through the horrible events of slavery in which they lost their past iyo history.
We are very fortunate to still have our Somalinimo and we should always follow our own culture just like how our fellow African brothers do.
Johnson were u not sheekhaal m8.He's testing the waters so he can do it for real.
I say he just go through with it or he'll regret it like I have.
Now I tell my parents of my gaalo behavior over the phone but only drop a bomb shell once in a blue moon.
I'll make my way up as I get older. They're getting suspicious that I am not as religious as when I used to live with them.
"Hoyoo I became a vegan"
"Allah ma Hinduuuuu baad noogatey?"
No, but I'm much worse.

U see the issue is I'm also sheekhaalKeep it moving transparent
If a man wears an earring, he's automatically khaniis. There's no "passes" or excuses for wearing an earring. Earrings are meant for women, not a man who's voice is deeper than Shaquille O'Neal on Inside the NBA.
Just cause the gaalo youth emulate Hip-hop doesn't mean that Somali youth need to emulate it as well. Hip-hop culture isn't Somali culture. Our youth need to follow our Geeljire Miyi Culture.
Hip-hop culture "used" to be masculine and it isn't anymore. You have "Lil Uzi Vert" doing khaniis dances and wearing naago clothes and the OG's in hip-hop are allowing these nikkas to be khaniis talking about "b-b-b-but the music is good though". Hip-hop isn't were it used to be in terms of masculinity.
u are a Muslim righ? Piercing is for females and the fact that as male you are doing it, it means you are trying to be like a female, well if you are justifying this![]()
ehhh that's a stretch. yeah it's not our culture and that's a good enough reason not to have your kids doing it, but just because someone gets a piercing it doesn't mean there's some overreaching gay plot that's coming to fruition. the effeminate nature of some hip hop artists today doesn't distract from the fact that by and large hip hop is a stupidly masculine and homophobic environment. think guys like 50 cent, eminem, tupac himself, most of NWA. those are the prevailing images most somali youth will have seen growing up. these new wack wrappers are the product of the past 5 years or so. they have no influence on how most millenial somali men carry themselves.
that's...a very basic analogy tbh. like yeah in OUR culture piercings are for females. but when you're in a western country and your child is no longer following your culture (which is what leads to this sort of thing) you don't apply the same logic. you see what they're following at that particular moment in time. and in most instances with men getting piercings it's usually to mimic specific individuals like the ones i listed above. those men are by and large homophobic, and have been criticized for portraying a barbaric and animalistic sense of masculinity.
just to be clear getting piercing is wrong because it's not our culture, but please drop this weird notion that there's some gay plot trying to slip some effiminizing serum into your kid's coco puffs. it's a tired stereotype and it makes us look like morons.
It is haraam for a man to have piercings on any part of his body, because that is imitating women. It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) cursed effeminate men and women who imitate men and he said: “Expel them from your houses.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5885. Ibn ‘Aabideen (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Piercing the ear in order to wear earrings is part of the adornment of women and it is not permissible for males.
