Somali bridge vs Roman Bridge

The romans idea of sexuality is much different than what you think you know. Any Roman would call the book-khaanis with the piercings a battyboy or in their Latin, Cinaedus.

They may have fucked men in the ass but they weren’t gay lmao
Didn’t the Greeks distinctly draw the line of homosexuality by deeming sex with a boy as part of their culture while with another man as gay? Linking sodomy as a power play.

No, the Greeks were a lot gayer than the Romans. There were many instances of adult males having sex like the famous “Sacred band of Thebes”, but pederasts were the most common yes. But even the Greeks considered you gay and a degenerate if you were the receptive party.

The ancient Greeks did not conceive of [URL='https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexual_orientation']sexual orientation as a social identifier as modern Western societies have done. Greek society did not distinguish sexual desire or behavior by the gender of the participants, but rather by the role that each participant played in the sex act, that of active penetrator or passive penetrated.

Seems to me we are in a time where this is completely upside down with gays valuing being open about their sexuality and wanted to be the dominated one.

Yes, that’s correct. Completely different from modern conception of homosexuality. For them, their desire for men was just an additional way to dominate other men other than the battlefield.
